Congratulations to CTC@Tea Gardens, the latest CTC to launch a community geographic domain. According to website coordinator Lyn Reid “We are very proud of both the Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest communities and look forward to showcasing all we have to offer on the World Wide Web to encourage greater tourism to the region.” Check it out. It is a very nicely designed site with some wonderful innovative ideas.

CTC@Kyogle and CTC@Bowraville have also recently launched their  community geographic domains. www.kyogle.nsw.au was officially launched by the local federal MP, Ms Janelle Saffin with the Kyogle Mayor Mr Ernie Bennett and President of the Chamber of Commerce  there to offer congratulations. The website belongs to the community and is administered by CTC with a mixture of funding sources.

 

The Bowraville Technology Centre has also launched Bowraville's community home on the net at www.bowraville.nsw.au.  One of the interesting features of the site is the images of the main street via BowraCam.  This was a community initiative to display Bowraville to the world.  Robynne McGinley, the Chairperson for the Bowraville Technology Centre, says that the new website is more interactive with extra information highlighting the local area to potential tourists, businesses and the wider community and provides an effective means of encouraging communication.  

The Bowraville Technology Centre and its dedicated team of volunteers will continue to develop and manage the site introducing new and exciting content in the near future.  Robynne also hopes that all the local businesses, organisations and community groups will now get behind and utilise the Bowraville website as a place to advertise and promote their activities, services and events.  They are also aiming to launch an e-commerce portal soon, which will create greater market exposure for the local businesses and organisations with Bowraville and its environs.
